Samsung has released the fastest solid state drive for home computers, the 980 Pro. The top version of the 1TB model provides 7000 MB / s read and 5000 MB / s write speeds. This is an all-time high for M.2 SSDs.
The novelty is also available in 250 and 500 GB versions. Their read and write speeds are 6400 MB / s and 2700 MB / s, 6900 MB / s and 5000 MB / s, respectively. The manufacturer managed to achieve such impressive performance indicators thanks to the use of a new type of Samsung Elpis Controller, V-NAND MLC memory and 1 GB DDR4 RAM used as a cache.
The performance of the top version of the Samsung 980 Pro reaches 1,000,000 IOPS on read / write operations (4KB QD32). Low-end options provide 800,000 and 500,000 IOPS, respectively. The drive is capable of surviving 600 full rewriting cycles. The manufacturer provides a five-year warranty. And today, Huawei presented a smartwatch with an original design.
