Mars 2020 is powered by a miniature nuclear reactor and has two-meter-long articulated levers and a drill to open rock samples in places that scientists consider potentially worth living. With the help of a drill, the scientists hope to find an ancient microbial life that could exist on the planet billions of years ago when Mars was very similar to Earth. It is known that the Red Planet had a dense atmosphere, a magnetic field and a huge ocean on its surface about two billion years ago. As a result of the meteorite fall, the climatic conditions of the planet began to change at a catastrophic rate, and Mars turned into a completely lifeless, dry and cold world.
