Do you know that you are most likely carriers of Neanderthal genes? According to studies, almost every modern member of the genus Homo sapiens possesses about 2% of the genes inherited from the ancient ancestors of the species Homo Neanderthalensis. In addition to the Neanderthal genes, you and I are also carriers of the genes of Denisov's husband – our much less studied old relative.
The skeleton of an old girl
When the remains of an old girl were found in one of the caves where Denisov's husband stopped in 2012, there was a real sensation in the scientific world. The fact is that the girl was at the same time a DNA carrier of two different types of old men. So the girl's mother was a representative of Neanderthals, and her father was a Denisovan.
The genes of the mother of the girl from the cave indicate that her ancestors from Western Europe came to Altai. In addition, an analysis of distant relatives revealed that most of them were immigrants from the region of modern Croatia. From this fact one can understand that the old man had a tendency to frequent migration in the region between Europe and Siberia. The result of such a large-scale hike was a Neanderthal girl with the genes of Denisov's husband. Despite the fact that it is not known with certainty what the Denisovite representatives might look like (only a few fragments have survived to this day), the deceased old girl's DNA showed that she was brown-eyed and dark-skinned.
Noteworthy: All existing species, including human species, will one day disappear.
It is very likely that the girl from the Altai Cave did hardly anything meaningful in her short life, even though Denisova 3 (as the child was called in the scientific community) not only explains the mystery of extinction at birth could ancestor of modern man, but also famous after several thousand years after his death.
Ancient Romeo and Juliet inherited it in our DNA
According to the latest data, the ancestors of modern humans intersected not only with Neanderthals and Denisovans, but also with representatives of several other archaic groups. Scientists found that Homo Sapiens encountered some "extinct hominins" during colonization of Southeast Asia, which modern researchers call "EN-1" and "EH-2".
It is not known if there were cases in which these species were crossed with each other. It is only known that both types of homo sapiens were quickly destroyed, although there are still some love stories between blood enemies in our DNA.
Relatives of a person could be hobbits
In addition to "EN-1" and "EH-2", scientists discovered traces of another mysterious species that contributed to the development of humanity. The "Luzon Man" lived together with Neanderthals and Cro-Magnons on the island of Luzon off the coast of the modern Philippines. The closest relative of this species may be a "floress man" who, despite his rather primitive nature, possessed relatively sophisticated implements. In addition, the similarity of the Floresian and the Luzonian man may be indicated by their intrinsic and intriguing property, namely extremely low growth. The average size of these people could be only 1.2 meters. Perhaps John Ronald Tolkien, who described the hobbits in The Lord of the Rings, used a picture that looked exactly like human ancestors.
