What has become a source of mysterious radio interference?

Since the first such signal was discovered in 2007, scientists have been constantly trying to identify its source. However, fast radio signals are difficult to study in such a way that they are completely and completely understood. The source of radio waves is still unknown due to the poor preparation of modern technologies and research methods, the phenomena that humans have not yet studied, and which cause interference.

Nevertheless, a team of astronomers wrote in an article in the Monthly Notices magazine of the Royal Astronomical Society on July 4, 2019, that they were able to detect up to five rapid outbreaks in real-time with just one radio telescope.

Wael Farah, a doctoral student at Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, developed a machine learning system that could detect signatures of fast radio interference.

The Farah system trained the Molonglo telescope to detect rapid bursts of radio so researchers could identify a specific pattern: each of these bursts is a single event that contains no analogues. In other words, the likelihood that mysterious radio signals have been sent by an intelligent life is highly unlikely.
